Ages
Better Than Wolves is organized into distinct "Ages" that represent different stages of the player's technological progress. Each Age in turn may be organized into separate Tiers that represent separate tasks that the player must achieve to progress to the next.
The following instructions are organized chronologically in terms of what the player must accomplish to progress forward in the mod. If you are just starting out in Better Than Wolves, then it is recommended you commence at the top of the instructions and work your way downwards. This mod is rather complex, and organizing the mod in this fashion can help make it all easier to digest for a new player.

and Soul Sand
- Use Soul Sand Piles
to find a Nether Fortress and collect Blaze Rods

and automate Millstone grinding - Make permanent Torches using Nether Coal
- Find and capture animals

- Grind and filter Netherrack in order to make a Hibachi
- Use Bellows
and a hibachi to stoke fire under a Kiln

Age of Pottery

- Make a Crucible
for more advanced material processing - Capture souls from the nether in Soul Urns
using a Hopper
Secondary Goals of This Tier
- Make Planters
to start growing crops without weeds

Age of Commerce
Primary Goals of This Tier
- Trade with villagers to level them up
Secondary Goals of This Tier
- Begin farming wheat
and other crops 
for more sustainable Food - Start making more advanced Food recipes in the Cauldron, combining the ingredients to multiply their efficiency:
- Create automated farms and factories to supply the requests of villagers
Requirements to move on to the next Tier
- Obtain at least three Infused Skulls
to summon the Wither - Defeat the Wither and obtain a Soulforge
Era of Domination
