Pumpkin Seeds, when planted in hydrated Farmland, will grow a central stem, that grows to max size before spawning a Pumpkin next to it. The growth of the stem can be accelerated by the application of Bone Meal to the farmland. Four Pumpkin Seeds are found by crafting an intact Pumpkin, or by dropping an intact Pumpkin as a block from a height of 12 blocks or greater, causing it to explode into seeds.

Pumpkins are primarily used for farming seeds in order to feed and breed Chickens, but they can also be eaten by the player for a very small restoration of hunger.

Keep In Mind

• Carved Pumpkins, which are found naturally within the abandoned radius of the spawn point, cannot produce seeds, so you must venture further out to find intact Pumpkins in plains biomes.
