Welcome to the BTW wiki!

Introduction

This wiki is a space for all things Better Than Wolves, the discussions have been had and it was decided that we will maintain as much information as possible here regardless if it 'feels' cheaty or otherwise too gamey for some players. The main reason being is there are many different play styles and the wiki is an excellent way for the more technical players to share insights or edge cases that can lead to innovative changes in how 'regular' players progress through the game.

For those looking for something to do here's the current list (feel free to add/remove tasks)

  • Cross link Installation with the one on GitHub
  • Cross link Manual Installation with the one on GitHub
  • Talk: is the Beginner's_Guide up to date..?
  • Talk: Relevance of Categories:`The Age of *` --> Investigate : https://www.sargunster.com/btw/index.php?title=Category:Main
  • Talk: Relevance of How to
  • Talk: Relevance of Miscellaneous Features
  • Talk: Relevance of Not a bug list
  • Remove: Minimized Blocks?

  • Create: Style Guide (I could have sworn I had something somewhere...)
  • Create: Contributing page, things that newer contributors can do to help along
  • Create: Page structure at the bottom of each page like how the old VMC wiki used to do..
  • Cleanup: Change all fucked links to proper page: Example
  • Cleanup: Change all fucked links to proper page: Example
  • Cleanup: Finish translating VMC pages to BTW relevant. VMC Category
  • Cleanup: Regular trolling of wiki pages, at a minimum dump {{Cleanup}} at the top and a note in the talk tab so the page is logged in Requires Cleanup
  • Cleanup: Pages that appear to be missing information or could otherwise be expanded on can have the {{stub}} tag added to the top and a note put in the talk tab for when others feel up to some wikification : Category: Stubs
  • Cleanup: Go through redirects and make them more specific (ie: link to a relevant title in the page rather than just the page)
  • Cleanup: Make recipe usage consistent across the wiki.
    • Go through all pages and make sure the original page is the single source of truth for the recipe.
    • Go through all item pages and make sure the recipe is surrounded by <onlyinclude>...recipe...</onlyinclude> so it may be cross linked to other pages using the {{:page-o-interest}} format.
      • eg: saw is a standard recipe
      • eg: Soulforged_Steel/Recipe which is linked in Soulforged Steel, note the difference of included information in each page, discussion is required if we want to move forward with this method (item page holds table, item/Recipe page holds just the crafting grid)

Investigate:

Seems you can append notes to tags? {{delete|Page naming scheme sucks, removing the () around ingot by creating a new page}}
