Axles are lengths of wood bound tightly with Rope, used as a means of transmitting continuous Mechanical power from Gearboxes, Redstone Clutches, Windmills and Water Wheels. Only 3 powered axles may be placed in a row. Adding another axle will result in that axle breaking under the strain of its own weight. They are also used to suspend Water Wheels and Wind Mills.

Keep in Mind
- Axles can not work in rows longer than three, including the axle the Wind Mill or Water Wheel is on.
- If the windmill/waterwheel is on an Axle, it powers both sides.
- Axles can be extended with the use of Gear Boxes and Redstone Clutches.
- Axles cannot transmit power from a Hand Crank.
- A special item called the Powered Axle, which is constantly powered, can be obtained in Creative mode, for testing purposes.
