Soul Dust is the Blood Wood analogue of Saw Dust, produced when Blood Wood is cut with a Saw, and is infused with the souls of the dead in a similar nature to Ground Netherrack and Glowstone Dust. One block of Blood Wood produces two units of Soul Dust. Soul Dust can also be used as a low grade fuel for Brick Ovens and Campfires.
Applications
Filtering
Soul Dust will instantly turn into Saw Dust when it is thrown on top of a Hopper that has been fitted with a Soul Sand block as a filter, but it will not fall through the hopper. It is very advisable to apply mechanical power to the hopper to release the extracted soul energy, as converting eight or more cumulative Soul Dust while it is unpowered will cause the hopper to explode, destroying half of the materials, the corner piece and the pressure plate.
During this process with a powered hopper, the extracted souls can optionally be captured by attaching an Urn below the Hopper to create Soul Urns, which are critical components of advanced devices and are one of the four components of Soulforged Steel. Every eight Soul Dust will fill one urn and cause it to drop off, leaving a place for a new urn. This process can be automated with the use of Block Dispensers and other devices.
