A Smouldering log is the actively burning version of a Wood log after it caught on fire. It is still on fire and need to be handled with care.

A smouldering log can keep burning for days, until it completely burns and turns into Cinders.

Crafting

Cannot be obtained in any way and is not used in any crafting recipe.

Properties

While it remains in its burning state, it can be used to ignite torches by right clicking on it with a torch in hand, and as such can be used in an emergency or to light up a torch without using a firestarter and wasting hunger.

Smouldering Logs are subjected to gravity, and will fall down if not supported by a block bellow them.

Mining a Smouldering log with an axe, or removing the block bellow and making it fall from too high, will explode the smouldering log and spread fire all around:
