Better Than Wolves introduce several new types of fences in addition to vanilla Oak Wood and Nether Brick ones:

Crafting

Fences can be crafted like vanilla fences (6 blocks in two horizontal rows) or the High Efficiency Recipes of 3 Mouldings in one horizontal row.

Keep in mind

  • Using minimize blocks to make:
    • Nether Brick Fence will use 62.5% less materials than using whole blocks
    • All other Stone Fences will use 87.5% less materials than using whole blocks
    • The traditional Wooden Fence will use 75% less materials than using sticks
  • The only Fences that can only be craft with moulding include the Spruce Wood Fence, Jungle Wood Fence, and Birch Wood Fence
  • Fences can't be jumped over, but let projectiles through and spiders can climb them.
  • Fences look great when used together with Tables and Benches.
  • As of Version 4.899999, you can no longer put Pressure Plates on top of Fences
  • As of Version 4.87, Flower Child include in the update Mojang's 1.6.2 fix that helps prevent animals from glitching through fences. (It still happens but it definitely helps)
  • As of Version 4.40, Flower Child changed the collision volume of fences so that it reflects the actual shape of fences. This allows you to mine/place blocks through the gaps in fences, and arrows can also go through the gaps.
