Data Value

Crude Torches are basic portable light sources that are crafted from Coal, or Charcoal and Shafts. They can be lit to create a Burning Crude Torch by right-clicking it in the world on Fire, burning Campfires, Lava, lit Brick Ovens, smouldering Wood, other Crude Torches, standard Torches, and Candles, and placed in the world to provide light in the surrounding area for one day only before irreversibly burning out.

Once lit, Crude Torches no longer stack, and its burn time will run regardless of whether it is in the inventory (which can be checked by the green bar on the icon), or placed in the world, with older torches becoming more charred on the shaft.

Burning crude torches can be freely placed, picked up and replaced without loss, and can be attached to walls or the ground.
