The Block of Soulforged Steel is an extremely durable block consisting of 16 Soulforged Steel ingots assembled together. It is mostly used to store Soulforged Steel more efficiently, but it's also an explosion resistant building material which can't be moved by pistons or destroyed by the wither, and requires a refined pickaxe or Mattock to collect. It takes about twice as long as Obsidian to collect, and can only be broken down into its components in the Crucible.
The creation of a full-size Soulforged Steel Beacon is widely considered to be the most advanced single device in the game, which requires immense quantities of highly-refined resources to create.

A beacon pyramid made from Blocks of Soulforged Steel has the ability "Binding Point". Once active, any player can right-click it and bind their soul to that location, where they will respawn should they die in range, which becomes infinite across all dimensions when built with four levels.
For a full pyramid you would need 164 blocks containing 2624 Soulforged Steel Ingots. A full breakdown of the required materials is as follows:
- 656 blocks of Clay (10.25 stacks)
- 2624 Iron Ingots (41 stacks)
- 2624 Soul Flux (41 stacks)
- 2624 Coal Dust (41 stacks)
