Mail was added as a way to craft chain armor in vanilla. Chain armor is intended in Hardcore Armor as a late-game lightweight version of iron armor for situations where iron or Soulforged Steel may be impractical.

Applications
Keep in mind
- Chain armor is both cheaper and lighter than iron armor, so it's recommended to resmelt your iron armor and craft chain armor as soon as possible.
- A full set of iron armor requires 216 Iron Nuggets, while a full set of chain armor only requires 96.
