Hellfire Dust
Hellfire Dust is the highly-flammable residue left behind when Ground Netherrack is passed through a Hopper containing a Soul Sand filter. It can be cooked in an unstoked Cauldron or combined with other substances at low heat to produce several useful substances, such as explosives, and Nethercoal for torches that never run out.

Filtering
Ground Netherrack will instantly turn into Hellfire Dust when it is thrown on top of a Hopper that has been fitted with a Soul Sand block as a filter, but it will not fall through the hopper. It is very advisable apply mechanical power to the hopper to release the extracted soul energy, as converting eight or more cumulative Ground Netherrack while it is unpowered will cause the hopper to explode, destroying half of the materials, the corner piece and the pressure plate.
During this process with a powered hopper, the extracted souls can optionally be captured by attaching an Urn below the Hopper to create Soul Urns, which are critical components of advanced devices and are one of the four components of Soulforged Steel. Every eight Ground Netherrack will fill one urn and cause it to drop off, leaving a place for a new urn. This process can be automated with the use of Block Dispensers and other devices.

Keep in Mind
- Hellfire Dust becomes dangerously unstable at very high temperatures. Never allow it to come into contact with a stoked Cauldron or Crucible unless you desire explosive results, only used unstoked Cauldrons.
- Blasting Oil is extremely unstable and can easily cause instant death if handled without care.
