Functions like an dispenser, but dispenses blocks and entities in front of the dispenser instead. With regular blocks, the block is placed in front when the dispenser receives power, then removed once the dispenser is powered down. It also varies from a typical dispenser in that it places fully functional minecarts and boats in front of it, rather than the items. The Block Dispenser also fires its contents in order (complete with an indicator in the inventory displaying which item will be fired next), rather than randomly, allowing for the selection of a sequence of blocks to be dispensed.

In terms of the crafting recipe, the logic behind it is that with time the Moss Stone absorbs some of the attributes of the spawner around it, while the souls contained within are capable of activating those properties when redstone power is applied.

Applications

Keep in mind

Blocks That Cannot be "Sucked" Up

Blocks That Will be "Spit" Out as Items

Mobs That Can be "Sucked" Up Into Items

Exceptions

  • Levers, buttons, and trapdoors need a block to be placed on opposite the block dispenser.
  • Portal (will be destroyed)
  • Axles are places so it touches the "mouth" of the block dispenser.
  • Gearboxes are placed with the arrows facing the same direction of the block dispenser "mouth".
  • Siding will always be placed on the wall opposite to the block dispenser.
  • Most blocks from other mods can be sucked up and placed (Buildcraft blocks with the place/remove blocks is an exception [the block is placed but not the area of the digging/placing])
