Hoes are farming tools that are used for tilling dirt in order to prepare them for fertilising and planting seeds. Tilling grass blocks will also have a chance of producing hemp seeds, with higher quality hoes having a higher chance of producing seeds. To do this, hold left click on a Grass Block until it "breaks" and leaves behind a Dirt block. Doing this again will turn it into Farmland.

Hoes are also used for removing weeds from crops by right clicking. If weeds are left unchecked, they can stifle growth and eventually kill crops.
