Iron Ore is a mineral block that may be found underground at any depth, including exposed surfaces. It can be chipped by chisels to produce piles of ore, or more efficiently mined by any quality pickaxe to produce full chunks of ore along with six stones. Two piles can be crafted to produce a chunk, and chunks can be smelted in a brick oven to produce iron nuggets, which can in turn be used to create tools or combined into an iron ingot. Veins vary in size and, unless intersecting with open air or another structure, typically come in clusters of 4 to 8 ores.

Iron Ore blocks can only be obtained with a Silk Touch pickaxe, but they can be smelted in a kiln.
