The Stewing Pot is an indispensable block used for mass food production and needed for many other kinds of heat-based crafting, such at tanning, alchemy and textile processing.

A Stewing Pot requires fire in the block directly underneath in order to function. Production rates are accelerated by the addition of more fire adjacent to the principal flame, with the maximum rate achieved with fires lit in the entire 3x3 area underneath. Netherrack or Hibachis are natural choices to provide fire, though any flame will serve in a pinch.

It should be noted that more advanced reactions like rendering into glue require the flames underneath the Stewing Pot to be stoked, which is only possible with Hibachis. Reactions requiring a regular flame, such as cooking, will not proceed when it is heated by a stoked flame. It should also be noted that having Hellfire Dust or any other explosive in a Stewing Pot over a stoked flame is not the best idea...

The Stewing Pot can be tipped by application of mechanical power. When tipped, all items in the Stewing Pot (except possibly those on the bottom row) will spill onto the block clockwise along - when facing the pot - the axle providing power to the Stewing Pot.

Keep in mind

• If dung is cooked alongside food in the Stewing Pot, Foul Food will be produced
• Lava will not heat the Stewing Pot
• Do NOT use Bellows to stoke the fire under a Stewing Pot containing Hellfire Dust or any other explosives; if you do, be ready to fight... and redecorate.
• The Stewing Pot can be smelted in the Crucible into 7 Iron Ingots.
• In older BTW versions (3.48 and lower) the Stewing Pot was named the Cauldron, but was renamed to avoid confusion with vanilla Minecraft Cauldron
