The Detector Block "sees" any block, item, character, mob or plant in front of it and emits an redstone signal.

Crafting

Applications

  • Automation
    • Any farming of a at least two block high plant/tree
    • Railway stations
    • Light activation
    • Mobgrinders
    • Elevators (due to a minor bug in 2.60 this will not work with moving platforms)
  • Intrusion detection
  • Traps

Keep in Mind

  • The Block's orientation must face the position where you want to detect something.
