Saw Dust

Saw Dust is a by-product of some types of wood processing. While it is generally considered a low value item, it can be used as low grade fuel for Brick Ovens and Campfires, and rendered into Potash later in the game.

Crafting

Splitting logs in a crafting grid requires placing an axe into the grid with the block of wood. When used this way, the axe is damaged one durability point per log.
