Sand

Sand is a fine particulate material commonly found making up beaches and deserts, usually found atop a layer of sandstone. Like dirt, sand can be dug by hand, producing six piles of sand, or more efficiently by shovel, producing a whole sand block. It can also be manufactured by filtering gravel in a Wicker Pane-filtered hopper, and can be smelted to make glass.

Sand is difficult to walk on and will slow movement speed, making deserts difficult to traverse quickly, but it can similarly slow pursuing enemies. Like loose dirt and gravel, it it subject to gravity, and can cause suffocation if dropped on a trapped victim.
