Infernal Enchanter
Infernal Enchanter is an advanced enchanter that allows you to select specific enchantments before Enchanting. You need an Arcane Scroll of appropriate enchantment and a number of bookshelves equal to the enchantment level placed in a 17x17x17 area centered on the Infernal Enchanter to use it to enchant an item. A minimum of 30 Bookshelves are required to unlock the maximum level of enchantments. The Infernal Enchanter requires considerably more experience to use than the vanilla Enchantment Table, especially if you want multiple enchantments on one item.
The Infernal Enchanter is the only way to enchant Steel tools. It allows you to specifically decide how to enchant your tools and remove any randomness, at the cost of a much heavier experience cost, and scrolls.
The Silk Touch and Fortune enchantment can only be obtained through using scrolls and the Infernal Enchanter.

Usage
Using the Infernal Enchanter to enchant items is a fairly costly process, especially if you want to add multiple enchantments, as the cost in both experience and bookshelves required will gradualy increase for each enchantments added.
When an enchantable item and an appropriate Arcane Scroll are placed in the Infernal Enchanter, a list of available levels and their XP cost for that enchantment appears.
- The maximum level of any enchantment will cost 30 xp levels, if the item is unechanted.
- The xp cost rises if there are already enchantments on the item:
xp level cost = (unenchanted level cost)*(number of enchantments on the item + 1)
For example, adding Sharpness 5 to a sword that already has Smite 5 will cost 30*(1+1) = 60 levels, and require 60 bookshelves:
- Diamond tools and armor can only have a maximum of 2 enchantments. Trying to add more enchantments will not display any levels available. This is also the case when you don't have enough XP though, so be careful !
- Steel tools and armor, however, can have up to 4 enchantments. The Infernal Enchanter also allows you to combine enchantments that wouldn't be possible otherwise:
- For example, adding Looting 3 to a sword that already has Smite 5 and Sharpness 5will cost 30*(2+1) = 90 levels, and require 90 bookshelves:
- The maximum number of enchantments on a single item is four, so a complete library will require 120 bookshelves to be able to enchant anything fully
- Note that if you have the required amount of XP, and the combination you're trying to enchant is valid, the options will be grayed out if you don't have the necessary amount of bookshelves:
Keep in Mind
- Since BTW version 4.34, the minimum level required to enchant an item was reduced from 50 to 30, so as to better match the vanilla enchantment table.
- Since BTW version 3.80 steel tools and armor can't be enchanted in regular Enchantment Table and need Infernal Enchanter to be enchanted.
- At least one side (not top or bottom) of a bookshelf must be exposed to air for it to be detected by the Infernal Enchanter.
Arcane Scrolls
Arcane Scrolls are rare drops from various mobs and rare trades from certain villagers. The type of Arcane Scroll depends on the mob it's dropped from. Each scroll can be used to pass a particular enchantment onto a tool or piece of armor, but only through the use of an Infernal Enchanter. Arcane Scrolls get used up by enchanting and can thus only be used to enchant one item. There are 21 Arcane scrolls in the game. Unless otherwise noted, scroll drops are very rare.
