The Gold Nugget is a small piece of gold metal, made from smelting chunks of gold ore in a brick oven or a full block of iron ore in a kiln, or obtained as a drop from Zombie Pigmen. It has several crafting applications, or nine can be crafted together to create an Gold Ingot, which is used to create most gold items. Gold nuggets are themselves primarily used to craft Redstone Latches and other finely crafted Redstone components.
Gold nuggets can be freely converted to and from Gold Ingots in the crafting grid, as well as in the Crucible. Gold nuggets and ingots can also be obtained by smelting down golden tools, armor, and other items in the crucible, recovering 67% of the gold used in the item.
